Can Dogs Get 'Runner's High'?

Can Dogs Get 'Runner's High'?

You know how good you feel after a run? Can your dog get that, too? Researchers believe it’s related to an exercise-induced release of neurotransmitters including endorphins and endocannabinoids, chemicals in the brain thought to be involved in regulating mood and pain.

Best running group around – The Rufftail...

I was very new to running when I first heard of the  RuffTail Runners .  I loved the idea of it but was very hesitant to sign up; I thought I’d be too slow or get winded too quickly and let the dogs down. Luckily I found the confidence to sign up for a training session, and not to sound too dramatic, but it kind of changed my life. I started posting pictures of the dogs I’d run with on Facebook, which led to acquaintances approaching me and asking “Are you the girl that runs with dogs?” or “How are you getting to run with all these cool dogs?”   Press the 'View Original Post' button below to read the complete article!

How To Wash Skunk Spray From Your Dog, Your...

Dogs love to explore. It's in their blood to follow their nose and check out their surroundings. Occasionally they come across some wild critters who aren't as interested in saying hello as they are. Skunks would be up there on the list of critters who may not want to say hi and will let your…

Exploring "The Dark and Bloody Grounds"

A dreary day is a good day to explore an area with a chilling past. I've been down to Dueling Creek before, its where we took Bear and Sparkz the day after we said goodbye to Milo. This weekend Oscar got to explore.
Wildlife seen- vultures, rabbit, fox, great blue heron. Sadly, lots of trash seen too.

Bike to Work Day is today in DC. Todd and I rode in together-- which is a good thing since my bag fell of my rack at 18th and Rhode Island Ave NE. I would have had no idea I was missing my bag until I stopped.

My work is one of the main sponsors of BTWD. The crew did a great job at the NoMA pit stop.
